Remembering the Flood in Certaldo
Exhibition of pages from the works of Boccaccio that mention the River Arno and the River Elsa.
This exhibition aims not just to remember what happened the night of November 4th, 1966, but to also serve as an act of solidarity towards the National Library in Florence and its holdings, which were hit hard by the flood: a disaster that ultimately led to a mobilization of scholars from all over the world who came to help Florence, effectively ushering in a new definition, thanks to Emanuele Casamassima, of restoration practices.
The program is organized and promoted with the collaboration of Toscana 2016, Ente Nazionale G. Boccaccio, Istituto Comprensivo Certaldo, Comitato della Memoria, Minerva S.C.S. Onlus, I Tigli – Centro Diurno, Centro Egiziano Giglioli, Auser, Fotostudio Bartalini, Foto Nencini, ASS.
