An exhibition dedicated to “The ‘flooded’ and their mayor: never-before-seen testimonies in Piero Bargellini’s studio” will be held at the Piero Bargellini Studio and Memorial House. Gregorio Nardi, curator of the Piero Bargellini archive, is pleased to invite press and civic authorities to the opening of the exhibition, which has official backing from the Coordinating Committee for the anniversary and will be on show from October 30 to November 13. The inauguration will take place on Saturday, October 29 (11am) in the Piero Bargellini Studio and Memorial House in via delle Pinzochere 3 in Florence. The exhibition, curated by Annegret Hoehler and Gregorio Nardi, has been organized in collaboration with the National Association of Memorial Houses (the president Adriano Rigoli and vice president Marco Capaccioli will both be present at the ceremony) and the Soprintendenza Archivistica e Bibliografica of Tuscany. On the occasion of the exhibition, a book titled “Voci dell’Alluvione, lettere al Sindaco Piero Bargellini e sua moglie Lelia, 1966–67” will be presented, edited by Annegret Hoehler and published by the CDeV house. This book contains a selection of the hundreds of letters sent to the mayor by the people affected by the flood.
