An exhibition of sculpture, painting, and artistic craftsmanship
Fifty years on from Florence’s flood, retired artisans from the CNA di Firenze, are celebrating the anniversary with the exhibition Craftsmanship is Art, held inside the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence. The exhibition assembles a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, and artistic craftsmanship, an expression of excellence of the “know-how” culture, of professional and cultural experiences. Craftsmanship in Florence represents an immeasurable richness for the community, where the crafts are living expressions of deeply-rooted cultures. Through this varied exhibition, visitors can admire works that convey a love of art: not that of museums, with its many masterpieces, but that which arises from a calling, inherent in craftsmanship, that just waits for the opportunity to express itself. It should be noted that the works on display bring together known artists, including Master craftsman Renzo del Lungo, curator of the exhibition, as well as others less famous, but all with an excellent display of skill. Craftsmanship is Art will be inaugurated on Saturday, November 12th, at 10.30am and will be open to the public for free, until Sunday, November 27th, from 10am to 12.30pm and 3pm to 7pm.
